“Am I living in a way which is deeply satisfying to me, and which truly expresses me.”
Carl R, Rogers
Welcome and thanks for visiting my website!
I am Amanda, a qualified counsellor/psychotherapist. I work using a person-centred approach, offering a non-directive listening style of therapy, putting you the client in charge of your own therapeutic journey.
As your counsellor/psychotherapist, I would assist you by offering the core conditions, which are empathy, unconditional positive regard (UPR), and congruence — which means I am real and genuine, whilst supporting you through your own self-awareness process.
I am a registered member of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abide by their ethics, guidelines, and framework.
I am also fully insured and have an enhanced DBS.

I decided to become a counsellor/psychotherapist after being a client myself and experiencing positive change from within. There is something special about having that time dedicated to yourself.
This has inspired me to want to pass on these positive feelings and experiences to others. I have trained while raising a family and balancing part-time work and responsibilities, so I know what it is like to navigate the demands of an increasingly hectic world whilst being a mother and employed.
I like my clients to know I am a real person balancing real responsibilities and what that is like. I can help navigate issues or concerns that could be making you unhappy in your professional, personal and social life.
“When you are living in psychological distress and someone really hears you, without passing judgement on you, without trying to take responsibility for you, without trying to mould you, it feels damn good!”
Carl R, Rogers
My inspiration comes from experiencing therapy as a client and feeling the special value of dedicated time for oneself. Having balanced raising a family with part-time work, I understand the pressure of navigating a hectic world. I bring this real-life perspective to our sessions, helping you manage concerns that affect your professional, personal, or social happiness.
Trouble with a relationship; anxiety or panic attacks; mood swings or depression - many people face difficulties in their everyday lives that can be hard to get on top of. Counselling gives us a set of tools we can use to help gain a better understanding of what’s causing these problems - and how you can move towards managing or resolving them.
I am a BACP Registered Member (00745185) and abide by their ethical framework. I am fully insured and hold an enhanced DBS check.

I offer a flexible approach to therapy, providing both online sessions via Microsoft Teams and face-to-face appointments in Leeds.
The practice is designed to be welcoming and accessible to everyone, offering:
Full Wheelchair Access (Entrance, Car Park, and Toilets)
Easy Parking (On-site and on the main road)
Excellent Transport Links (Located on a main bus route)
Counselling sessions cost £45 per hour.
I may have a slot available at an affordable rate, subject to availability; I would be happy to discuss this with you.
I am available for morning and afternoon sessions, with some early evening appointments available.
Payment & Cancellation: To secure your booking, payment is required 24 hours before your session via bank transfer. I also operate a 24-hour cancellation policy.

You can contact me initially by phone, or using the contact form on this website. This enables us to discuss your needs and see if I am the right therapist to help.
